Based on the specific life science stories, The Proposal of Hong Kong's Biotechnology Innovation and "The Life Science Sciences Stories in Hong Kong 2022” aim at digging out the pains and blind spots behind the development of Hong Kong’s life science industry and exploring the appropriate solutions and suggests which can significantly promote the industry.

Initiated by the Board of Directors of the association, they were written by the Chief Operating Officer Ruby Lifang Liao, and assistant analysts: Sunny Chen, Jacky Xu, Christy Ling and Edison Lo. They have been submitted to the Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government; the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau; Innovation and Technology Commission; Food and Environmental Hygiene Department; Hon. Duncan Chiu, the LegCo Member of Functional Constituency of Technology and Innovation; the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park; the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong; and related stakeholders of the industry. In addition, HKBMIA successfully hosted a discussion meeting with Ms Rebecca Pun, the commissioner of Innovation and Technology Commission.

The Alliance is co-founded by HK-Bio Med Innotech Association, China Pharmaceutical Innovation and Research Development Association (PhIRDA), Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI), and International Association of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine.


The goal is to create a bio-pharmaceutical innovation and cooperation platform, which will establish a platform for joint scientific and technological innovation talent in HK, Mainland China, Taiwan and Macau, promoting regulatory convergence of international standards, accelerating the sharing of the four pharmaceutical markets, and achieving the effective deployment of capital markets. It will aim to develop itself into a collaborative channel for Asian and all overseas Chinese in global biomedical industry.
