HK BIO-MED INNOTECH ASSOCIATION IS COMMITTED
ESTABLISHING AN INNOVATIVE AND INTERNATIONAL
BIOMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY HUB IN HONG KONG
THE LIFE SCIENCES STORIES IN HONG KONG
Inspired by specific life science stories, The Proposal of Hong Kong's Biotechnology Innovation and "The Life Sciences Stories in Hong Kong 2022” were written and organized respectively to aim at analyzing the trials and tribulations encountered by the development of Hong Kong’s life science industry and exploring opportunities that can significantly enhance the industry.
Initiated by the Board of Directors of the association, they were written by the Chief Operating Officer Ruby Lifang Liao, and her assisant analysts: Sunny Chen, Jacky Xu, Christy Ling and Edison Lo. The proposal has been submitted to the Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government; the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau; Innovation and Technology Commission; Food and Environmental Hygiene Department; Hon. Duncan Chiu, the LegCo Member of Functional Constituency of Technology and Innovation; the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park; the Chinese Manufacturers'Association of Hong Kong; and related stakeholders of the industry. In addition, HKBMIA hosted a discussion meeting with Ms Rebecca Pun, the commissioner of Innovation and Technology Commission, about the proposal.
Cross-Strait Bio-Med Innotech Alliance
The Alliance was co-founded by HK Bio-Med Innotech Association, China Pharmaceutical Innovation and Research Development Association (PhIRDA), Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI), and International Association of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine.
The goal of the Alliance is to create a platform for biomedical innovation and collaboration amongst HK, Mainland China, Taiwan and Macau, which will be used to gather talents specialized in scientific research and innovation, promote regulatory convergence with international standards, accelerate the unification of the biomedical markets, and achieve effective deployments of capital markets in the four aforementioned regions. It aims to develop into a collaborative channel for all Chinese across the globe that dedicate themselves to the biomedical industry.
